Role: VP Engineering

Location: Berlin-based (Relocation support offered, in-office, every day)

Your Mission

As VP Engineering, you’ll take full ownership of our product execution. That means coding hands-on ~70% of the time, building a high-performing tech team, and laying the technical foundation to scale a category-defining company.

What You’ll Do

• Own and execute the product roadmap with the CEO, with end-to-end accountability for delivery
• Code hands-on in our core stack (.NET, Angular, Flutter, AWS)
• Lead engineering excellence: Define quality standards and introduce pragmatic processes for fast, reliable shipping
• Build and scale the engineering team: Recruit, mentor, and retain top talent in a high-ownership culture
• Design architecture that balances rapid iteration with long-term sustainability
• Ship game-changing features like:
  • Virtual IBAN payment flows
  • VOIP customer integrations
  • AI-powered quote generation and call workflows
  • Digital debt collection tooling
  • Performance analytics dashboards
• Ensure tight product/tech alignment with Product, Ops, and GTM teams
• Introduce best practices (CI/CD, testing, observability) that add speed and clarity
• Shape a culture of ownership, momentum, and mutual respect

What You Bring

• Deep hands-on experience with .NET, Angular, Flutter, and AWS
• High coding velocity and the ability to lead by example
• Proficiency with AI tools like Cursor, Copilot, ChatGPT
• Sharp startup judgment — know when to ship fast, when to slow down, and how to prioritize tech debt
• Proven team builder and mentor with a track record of setting high standards
• Strong product sense: Think in value, not just features; obsess over UX
• Calm communicator who thrives under pressure and ambiguity
• Lean process mindset — enough structure to scale, never too much to slow you down
• Low ego, fast learner, takes action without waiting for a polished deck
• Fluent English (C1+), German is a plus
• Willing to relocate to and work from our Berlin HQ (we’ll support your move)
