About the Role

At zooplus, we are looking for a commercially driven leader to take ownership of key categories within the DACH region — our largest and most strategic market.

This is more than a traditional category management role. You will operate like a General Manager for your categories, taking full ownership of strategy, growth, pricing, onsite performance, and team leadership from end to end.

Working closely with Marketing, CRM, Vendor Management, and Own Brand teams, you will transform customer and market insights into measurable commercial success.

What You’ll Own

  • Define and execute the commercial strategy for your categories across the DACH region.
  • Drive topline growth, profitability, and KPI performance at both category and product levels.
  • Lead pricing strategies, promotional planning, and campaign execution to maximize commercial impact.
  • Own onsite merchandising and customer journey optimization to improve conversion rates and growth.
  • Expand Own Brand performance through customer acquisition, migration, and retention initiatives.
  • Use customer insights and data analytics to continuously identify opportunities and optimize performance.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team of four professionals.
  • Influence cross-functional stakeholders and collaborate with broader teams to deliver measurable business outcomes.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience in retail, FMCG, or e-commerce with strong category ownership responsibilities.
  • Proven ability to lead teams while driving commercial growth and operational performance.
  • Strong commercial acumen combined with a hands-on and analytical mindset.
  • Confidence working cross-functionally and influencing senior stakeholders.
  • Solid understanding of how pricing, marketing, vendor management, and operations work together to drive business success.
  • Strong knowledge of DACH customer behavior and regional market dynamics.
  • German language skills at a minimum B1 level and strong English communication skills.
  • A proactive, entrepreneurial mindset with a strong focus on delivering impact.
