About the Mobile Technology Group
The Mobile Technology group is responsible for Mobile, Services, and Cloud technology strategy for Schwab Retail, Retirement, and Advisor Services. In this role, you will work in Schwab’s Mobile Technology team driving a cutting-edge mobile experience for clients.
As a Sr Engineering Manager in Mobile Technology, you will report directly to the Director of Mobile Technology and are responsible for leading multiple Software Engineering delivery teams. You will enable consistent, predictable, high-quality output by implementing design and execution best practices including:
- Tools and metrics
- Automation frameworks
- People management and leadership
- Software development and testing
You will serve as a strong, versatile hands-on technical leader to deliver high-quality solutions that meet business objectives in a flexible, collaborative, and rapidly changing environment.
Position Responsibilities
- Managing Performance (PL): Taking responsibility for employees’ performance by setting clear goals, tracking progress, providing feedback, and addressing performance issues promptly.
- Strategic Thinking: Analyzing the organization’s competitive position and developing a clear, compelling vision for future success.
- Forward Thinking: Anticipating consequences of situations and taking appropriate action for potential contingencies.
- Building Collaborative Relationships: Developing and strengthening partnerships with others who can provide information, assistance, and support.
- System Design and Architecture: Implementing concepts for system design, ensuring compatibility with cloud architectures, and using adaptive approaches for lifecycle models and methodologies.
- Organizational Capability Improvement: Driving organizational performance by continuously assessing, improving, and implementing capabilities.
Required Qualifications
- 6+ years of people management experience leading teams of 10+ software engineers in large, complex, and geographically dispersed organizations.
- 8+ years of hands-on experience with application and service development or solution architecture, building complex, resilient, and highly scalable applications in a large enterprise.
- 4+ years of experience on Native applications (iOS/Android) or Retail Web applications.
- Experience developing distributed multi-tier applications and complex platform integrations.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information technology, or a related field with practical experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in the Financial Services industry.
- Knowledge of cloud computing platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure, PCF).
- Experience with API and Microservice development using technologies such as C#/Java.

Compensation
In addition to the salary range, this role is eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities.
