The Sr Automation and Controls Engineer for Cytiva is responsible for leading projects that impact our core value drivers, e.g. product quality, on-time delivery and operating margin, via automation and digitalization of manufacturing operations.

 

This position is part of the Manufacturing Technology team located in Pensacola, FL, and will be an on-site role. At Cytiva, our vision is to advance future therapeutics from discovery to delivery.

 

What you’ll do:

  • Identify opportunities to improve our manufacturing value streams and develop new automation and digitalization solutions that impact our core value drivers.
  • Contribute to creating and deploying a global technology roadmap that describes the transformation of our manufacturing operations to a more automated and digitalized future state.
  • Capture data to quantify the value of solving manufacturing problems and contribute to business cases that justify investments in new automation and digitalization technologies.
  • Participate in actions to standardize technologies across the business, including global specifications for automation platforms, system architectures, and software applications.
  • Planned and executed projects to implement new automation and digitalization solutions, including their specification, development, and validation.

 

Who you are:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or in “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in relevant engineering roles in a manufacturing environment, e.g., controls and automation engineering.
  • Practical “hands-on” experience in developing and implementing controls and automation for machinery including hardware and software e.g. SCADA, PLC, HMI.
  • Understanding of current automation and digitalization technologies regarding their application in manufacturing operations.
  • Skilled in visual and daily management, demonstrated via application to engineering projects including management of own tasks and leadership of individual work-streams.

 

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Manufacturing for biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or similar regulated industries.  Knowledge of GMP would be advantageous.
  • Knowledge of procedures associated with the management of change in a regulated environment and, specifically, validation of manufacturing methods and equipment.
