Your Role: Solutions Engineer
As a Solutions Engineer at Alpaca, you’ll be the technical expert partnering with enterprise customers around the world to scope and support product integrations from conception to launch.
You’ll act as the technical bridge between clients and internal teams, helping design solutions, troubleshoot issues, and advocate for partner needs within Alpaca.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Process
- Drive product discovery to define the MVP and provide technical product demonstrations.
Onboarding Integration
- Support integration projects as the primary technical resource, ensuring smooth setup and deployment.
Post-Integration Support
- Provide continued technical guidance, implement new features, and support ongoing partner needs.
Internal Collaboration
- Act as the voice of the customer internally across Product, Engineering, Operations, Sales, and Customer Success teams.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to drive improvements, resolve issues, and deliver value for enterprise customers.
Things You’ll Get to Do
- Establish yourself as a subject matter expert on Alpaca’s API and support fintech partners globally.
- Stay updated on internal product timelines and work with Product teams to test and roll out new features.
- Ensure partner feature requests and bug reports are communicated and prioritized effectively.
- Assist Sales and Success teams by providing technical advice and driving technology evaluations with clients.
- Attend partner meetings, answer product questions, and unblock technical challenges.
- Create internal and external documentation and resources for partners and internal stakeholders.
Who You Are (Must-Haves)
- Experience leading enterprise-level business projects with strong process, analysis, design, and documentation skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with excellent English communication (verbal and written).
- Proven problem-solving abilities and attention to detail with a focus on quality and deadlines.
- Technical background including:
- RDBMS experience (Postgres preferred; familiarity with Metabase is a plus).
- Experience with modern APIs (REST, WebSockets, Server Sent Events).
- Experience in enterprise software implementations.
- Strong troubleshooting and familiarity with JIRA, Postman, curl, and API logging tools.
- Flexibility to work with global customers across multiple time zones.
- Interest or experience in FinTech, financial markets, or investing applications (broker-dealer experience is a plus).
- A startup mindset — adaptable, curious, and collaborative.
Who You Might Be (Nice-to-Haves)
- Experience in Sales or Customer Success, especially guiding clients through pre- and post-sales cycles.
- Programming experience (we use Golang).
- Experience with git and version control systems.
- Knowledge of the FIX protocol.
- Familiarity with Readme, OpenAPI YAML specifications, and documentation best practices.
