As a Solution Engineer, you will oversee your customers’ end-to-end technical journey
at Payrails, working alongside an ambitious and knowledgeable team with the freedom to make a real impact.
How You Will Make an Impact
- Lead end-to-end integration engineering, from high-level architecture design to hands-on code implementation
- Act as the technical expert and primary point of contact in both pre- and post-sales engagements
- Support positioning, closing, and onboarding of new merchants
- Build trusted merchant relationships by educating customers on Payrails’ value proposition, best practices, and product roadmap
- Deliver solution demos, executive briefings, and technical workshops showcasing how Payrails solves complex payment challenges
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Payment Strategy, Sales, Product, and Engineering teams to ensure seamless onboarding and continuous improvement
- Occasionally travel to customer sites for installations, workshops, or technical deep-dives
What We Are Looking For
- 5+ years of experience in Software or Integration Engineering, with hands-on API/SDK work (ideally in startup or scale-up environments)
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages:
Java, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Ruby, Golang, C#, .NET
- Experience debugging API calls and using monitoring tools such as Grafana, Splunk, or similar
- Strong skills in technical diagramming (sequence diagrams, system diagrams, mockups)
- Proven technical leadership on user-facing projects from design through delivery
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, engaging both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Confidence leading workshops, demos, and discovery sessions with executive audiences
- Track record of aligning technical solutions with business objectives and driving measurable customer outcomes
- Fluent in English; additional languages (Arabic, French, German, Italian, Spanish) are a plus
- Familiarity with the payments ecosystem (checkout, authentication, payouts, marketplaces) is a strong plus
