Solution Architect – Agile Teams

About the Role

Renesas is seeking a Solution Architect for Altium Agile Teams to help mid-market and small enterprise customers successfully deploy and optimize the Altium Agile Platform and related PLM capabilities.

This role is ideal for someone who:

  • Understands engineering workflows and electronics design processes
  • Has hands-on experience with Altium technologies
  • Enjoys practical implementation and customer collaboration
  • Wants to help engineering teams improve efficiency and collaboration

Unlike large-scale enterprise transformation roles, this position focuses on:

  • Hands-on implementation
  • System configuration
  • Workflow optimization
  • Lightweight customization
  • Practical PLM enablement

You will work closely with customers, Professional Services engineers, Sales teams, and Product teams to ensure successful deployments and long-term adoption of the platform.

A Day in the Life of an Agile Teams Solution Architect

Solution Implementation & Configuration

  • Assist with the deployment and configuration of the Altium Agile Platform for mid-market customers
  • Configure:

    • Libraries
    • Roles and permissions
    • Data management structures
    • Engineering design workflows
  • Analyze customer engineering workflows and translate them into practical system configurations
  • Support lightweight PLM practices including:

    • Lifecycles
    • Revision schemes
    • BOM structures
    • Change management processes

Customer Collaboration

  • Work directly with customers to understand:

    • Their engineering environments
    • Operational challenges
    • Workflow priorities
  • Provide hands-on guidance for teams implementing or scaling the use of Altium tools

Product & Ecosystem Expertise

  • Develop and maintain expertise in:

    • Altium 365
    • Altium Designer
    • Altium Agile Platform
    • Related integrations and workflows
  • Help customers adopt:

    • New features
    • Best practices
    • Updated engineering workflows

Technical Support & Troubleshooting

  • Investigate workflow issues and configuration challenges
  • Troubleshoot:

    • Data structure inconsistencies
    • System configuration problems
    • Workflow inefficiencies
  • Escalate complex technical matters to senior architects or R&D teams when needed

Project Delivery & Documentation

  • Participate in creating:

    • Mini Statements of Work (SOWs)
    • Implementation plans
    • Customer deployment documentation
  • Document:

    • Configurations
    • Templates
    • User instructions
    • Best-practice deployment processes
  • Support data migration activities for:

    • Libraries
    • Components
    • Project structures

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate with Professional Services engineers on:

    • Integrations
    • Advanced technical tasks
  • Coordinate with Product and R&D teams to communicate:

    • Customer feedback
    • Feature requests
    • Product gaps

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in:

    • Electrical Engineering
    • Electronics Engineering
    • Mechatronics
    • Or a related technical field
  • Equivalent practical experience is also considered
  • 3–5 years of experience in:

    • Solutions consulting
    • Technical support
    • PCB design
    • CAD administration
    • Engineering process roles
  • Experience with:

    • Altium Designer
    • Altium 365

    is highly desirable

  • Exposure to PLM concepts such as:

    • Lifecycles
    • BOMs
    • Change management

Technical Skills

  • Strong understanding of:

    • ECAD workflows
    • Libraries and project structures
    • Engineering data management
  • Familiarity with:

    • Cloud systems
    • Permissions management
    • Integrations
    • Engineering collaboration tools
  • Basic knowledge of PLM practices for engineering teams
  • Ability to clearly document:

    • Processes
    • Configurations
    • User guides

Soft Skills

  • Strong problem-solving mindset and technical curiosity
  • Customer-focused communication style with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly
  • Ability to manage multiple customer engagements simultaneously
  • Team-oriented attitude and eagerness to learn from senior architects and engineers

Additional Requirements

  • Willingness to occasionally travel to customer sites for workshops and deployments

  • Complex enterprise architecture consulting
  • Large-scale multi-system governance
  • Heavy software engineering customization
  • High-level strategic consulting engagements

This Role IS

  • Hands-on implementation work
  • Practical workflow and configuration support
  • Direct collaboration with engineering teams
  • PLM-light process enablement within Altium 365
  • A strong pathway toward senior or enterprise architecture roles
