Responsibilities

Role Overview: As a Software Engineer – Test & Verification (f/m/d), you will join a team dedicated to developing, setting up, and operating trapped-ion quantum computers and test devices. You will contribute to software development and maintenance while working closely with hardware systems.

  • Develop automated test solutions for complex quantum software using Python and Pytest
  • Design and integrate test cases into CI/CD pipelines for continuous validation
  • Manage functional, integration, regression, and system-level tests
  • Validate APIs for hardware control, simulation, and orchestration
  • Execute verification and validation tests on real hardware
  • Automate test execution and result analysis
  • Perform bug tracking, root cause analysis, and collaborate on issue resolution
  • Conduct performance, stress, and security testing
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards (SWIT, SWQT)
  • Improve testing methodologies, tools, and frameworks continuously

Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  • 5+ years of professional experience in a similar role
  • 3+ years of SIL (Software-in-the-Loop) testing experience
  • Strong experience with Python, Pytest, Shell scripting, API testing, GitLab, and Postman
  • Expertise in CI/CD test integration
  • ISTQB Certification
  • Excellent technical documentation skills
  • Fluent English communication (written and spoken)
  • Creative mindset and ability to work in multicultural teams
  • Interest in physics, mathematics, lasers, and electronics

  • HIL (Hardware-in-the-Loop) testing experience
  • Knowledge of programmatic device control (SCPI, MODBUS, etc.)
