Role Overview
As a Software Engineer on the AI Platform Development team, you’ll develop libraries, APIs, and infrastructure that enable internal teams to utilize large language models (LLMs) and AI capabilities across Blackstone. You’ll work in a modern cloud-native environment with technologies like AWS Bedrock, Azure OpenAI, Pinecone, FastAPI, and React.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain internal libraries in Python and C# for AI platform integration.
- Create high-quality documentation and working examples to support adoption.
- Collaborate with teams across the organization to understand needs and deliver scalable solutions.
- Design and deploy infrastructure using AWS services and Terraform Cloud.
- Ensure platform reliability with observability, logging, and monitoring from the ground up.
- Develop APIs using FastAPI and Pydantic with built-in type safety and automatic docs.
- Contribute to React-based frontends using Vite (static) and Next.js (dynamic apps).
- Build robust testing pipelines with Jest, Cypress, and CI/CD best practices.
- Stay current with trends in LLMs and AI/ML and evaluate new tools as they emerge.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, design discussions, code reviews, and team mentorship.
Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience in software development, especially in Python and/or C#.
- Proficient with cloud platforms (AWS preferred) and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform).
- Experience building developer libraries or internal frameworks used by multiple teams.
- Strong documentation and communication skills.
- Background in modern microservices and REST API architecture.
- Experience with FastAPI, Pydantic, and React (Vite or Next.js).
- Familiarity with observability tools and containerization (Docker).
- Hands-on experience with Cypress and Jest for testing.
- Interest or experience in AI/ML, especially LLMs and vector databases (e.g., Pinecone).
Preferred Experience
- Experience with AWS Bedrock or Azure OpenAI services.
- Development of tools for internal developer experience.
- Monitoring, alerting, and tracing in complex distributed systems.

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

Compensation
Base Salary Range: $125,000 – $200,000 annually
Actual pay is based on experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additional compensation and benefits may include performance bonuses, health coverage, retirement plans, and more.
