Senior Technical QA Tester (f/m/d)

We’re looking for a Senior Technical QA Tester to join our Idle Bank Tycoon team in Berlin.

In this role, you’ll take ownership of game quality from end to end—from feature testing and test automation to performance profiling and continuous process improvement. Working within a cross-functional team alongside Product, Game Design, and Engineering, you’ll help ensure players receive the highest quality gaming experience.

Your Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end game quality
  • Manage feature quality throughout the development lifecycle, from requirement analysis to release sign-off and post-release monitoring.
  • Identify QA workflows, edge cases, and testing requirements.
• Develop and execute testing strategies
  • Design, write, and review comprehensive test plans and test maps.
  • Review QA submissions from team members and define testing strategies for complex features.
• Build and maintain automated testing
  • Create and maintain automated test scripts using Python within the in-house Test Automation Platform.
  • Monitor automated test runs and ensure release sanity checks are completed.
• Perform technical QA analysis
  • Analyze application performance, including runtime profiling, memory usage, CPU/GPU performance, and build size validation for iOS and Android.
  • Monitor regressions such as frame rate drops, increased loading times, and APK/IPA size changes.
• Coordinate QA activities
  • Lead team playtests and coordinate game releases.
  • Manage QA priorities across internal and external testing teams.
• Drive continuous improvement
  • Own QA KPIs and identify opportunities to improve testing processes and tooling.

Required Skills & Experience

• Extensive experience in Quality Assurance within mobile gaming, ideally in a Free-to-Play (F2P) or LiveOps environment.
• Hands-on experience developing and maintaining automated test scripts in Python.
• Strong understanding of mobile game performance profiling, memory analysis, build size optimization, and frame pacing on iOS and Android.
• Experience with test management tools such as Xray, TestRail, Zephyr, or similar platforms.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and Jira.
• Experience coordinating QA efforts across both internal and external testing teams.
• Experience using AI-assisted tools for testing, bug triage, or workflow automation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Proactive, ownership-driven mindset with confidence working in evolving or ambiguous environments.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with CI/CD platforms such as Jenkins or GitLab.
• Familiarity with Unity.
• Hands-on experience using mobile profiling tools such as Xcode Instruments or Android Profiler.
• Experience working with Firebase, SDK integrations, and third-party plugins.
• Basic SQL knowledge and familiarity with data pipelines.
