  • Benefits: up to €5,000 annually

Your Role

As our Senior Technical Operational Excellence Manager, you will be the architect of our technical processes and system reliability, playing a key role in scaling our operations. You’ll design and continuously improve the frameworks that ensure every system we deploy is installed efficiently and operates without interruptions.

In our high-stakes environment, the impact of a single failure is significant. You will create robust processes and quality gates that eliminate variability, mitigate risk, and build a foundation of operational resilience that enables Orbem to scale sustainably.

Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Own the full technical installation lifecycle — from site readiness through handover — establishing robust quality gates at each stage.
  • Analyze system performance data to identify root causes of failures and drive continuous process and product improvements.
  • Build feedback loops that translate field performance into prioritized, actionable insights for the product team.
  • Proactively identify operational risks through field data analysis and execute improvement initiatives.
  • Standardize critical processes (e.g., warranty claims, system upgrades) for efficiency, scalability, and documentation.
  • Collaborate with Field Operations, Product Development, and BI teams to define and track KPIs for installation quality and system uptime.

Your Experience and Skills

  • Proven experience in operational excellence, process engineering, or quality management within industries handling high-complexity, high-value systems (e.g., medical devices, aerospace, scientific instrumentation, semiconductor equipment).
  • A systematic and meticulous mindset with the ability to create order from complexity and a passion for precision.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience in root cause analysis methodologies and continuous improvement implementation.
  • Deep understanding of quality control principles and experience designing, implementing, and documenting scalable processes.
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence stakeholders without direct authority.

Fit to Our Values

  • We own every challenge: We enjoy complexity and thrive under uncertainty.
  • We strive for better: We seize opportunities for growth, challenge the status quo, and continuously learn and improve.
  • We imagine new frontiers: We think beyond ‘doable’ and ‘reasonable’, designing a sustainable and healthy future together.

What Makes You Stand Out

  • A natural curiosity and passion for deep-tech, with a genuine interest in understanding the technology and its impact.
  • Experience in deep-tech or scale-up environments with a physical hardware product.
  • Certification in quality or continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Certified Quality Engineer).
  • Experience with Field Service Management software or similar operational tools in technical environments.
