About the Role:

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Platform Engineering team within Disney’s Ad Tech organization. You will be instrumental in developing automation, tooling, and infrastructure that empowers teams to deliver scalable ad solutions with speed and reliability.

Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain internal developer tools using TypeScript, Python, and Go.
  • Enhance and maintain core Terraform modules for AWS cloud infrastructure provisioning.
  • Develop and maintain Helm charts for Kubernetes deployments.
  • Improve observability using Datadog and troubleshoot system-level issues.
  • Support Istio service mesh networking across teams.
  • Participate in the team’s on-call rotation for production support and user requests.
  • Collaborate with engineers across the company to build solutions that reduce friction and improve deployment pipelines.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of backend or platform engineering experience.
  • Proficient in at least two of the following: Python, TypeScript, Go.
  • Deep knowledge of AWS and Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform).
  • Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and cloud-native design patterns.
  • Strong debugging and problem-solving skills in distributed systems.
  • Excellent communication and team collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or relevant certifications.
  • Experience with Istio or other service meshes in Kubernetes.
  • Background in developer tooling, platform automation, or observability engineering.
  • Familiarity with building dashboards and monitoring systems (e.g., Datadog).
  • Proven ability to architect and document scalable infrastructure systems.

Compensation & Benefits:

The hiring range for this position in Glendale, California is $136,038 – $182,490 per year. Final compensation may vary based on location, experience, and internal equity. This role may also be eligible for bonus and/or long-term incentive units.
