The Role

We are looking for a Software Engineer to join the Search & Performance group at AutoScout24.

This team is responsible for the algorithms and data quality that power AutoScout24’s search experience and advertising products. You’ll work on high-traffic, business-critical systems, taking ownership of key features that directly improve the customer experience.

What You’ll Do

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable software solutions for AutoScout24’s Search & Performance platform.
• Deliver product and technical initiatives while balancing quality, user value, and development effort.
• Optimize the technology stack by applying modern architectural principles, frameworks, and engineering best practices.
• Contribute to improving both team productivity and platform performance.
• Support an agile product development process and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams.

What You’ll Bring

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong expertise in Java and Spring Boot.
• Broad knowledge of object-oriented and functional programming concepts.
• Experience with PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, Kafka, and AWS is highly desirable.
• Experience with Scala is a plus.
• Strong collaboration skills combined with the ability to make sound technical decisions independently.
• Proven experience using AI-powered development tools such as GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Cursor, or OpenAI Codex to improve software development efficiency and code quality.
• Experience integrating Large Language Model (LLM) APIs such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Azure OpenAI, or Vertex AI into applications or internal tools.
• Understanding of responsible AI development practices, including testing, code reviews, governance, and risk management.
