About the Role

As a Senior Engineer in the Localization Team, you will help build and maintain the infrastructure that powers
localization across Mozilla’s products and services.

• Work on tools like moz-l10n and Pontoon (translation management system)
• Improve internationalization across Firefox and other products
• Contribute to open standards such as Unicode MessageFormat
• Collaborate with a global community of contributors

Your Responsibilities

• Develop Python and JavaScript libraries for localization
• Enhance localization and internationalization in Firefox
• Design and implement new features for Pontoon
• Engage with volunteer developers and localizers
• Collaborate across distributed teams and time zones

Your Profile

• Strong experience with Python and JavaScript
• Solid understanding of web technologies and APIs
• Experience with open-source development
• Ability to work effectively in distributed teams
• Excellent communication skills
• Fluent English (written and spoken)

Nice to Have

• Experience with i18n and l10n tools or workflows
• Knowledge of Rust or C++
• Additional language skills and cultural awareness
