Your Tasks

• Focus primarily on backend web application engineering while contributing full-stack when needed with a strong product mindset.
• Maintain existing API services and build the next generation of our Packmatic platform that serves customers, suppliers, and partners.
• Work with a modern tech stack: NestJS in the backend, PostgreSQL for data storage, REST APIs and message queues for communication, and deploy via Docker in a fully automated AWS cloud infrastructure.
• TypeScript everywhere: While we use TypeScript as our core language, we always choose the best tool for each job – and your expertise will help guide future decisions.

What You Bring With You

• Experience: 4+ years in backend software development with a strong product focus.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in TypeScript and NestJS for backend development, as well as experience with RDBMS (especially PostgreSQL), AWS services, and cloud architecture. Experience with React or Vue.js is a big plus.
• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with experience diagnosing complex issues, refining data schemas, and optimizing workflows.
• UI Development: Ability to build and maintain supporting UIs that assist integration processes using modern frontend frameworks (a plus).
• Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• General Requirements: Based in Berlin, fluent in English, and open to a hybrid work model.
