About the Role
As a Quality Specialist – System Testing within the Pre-Integration and Testing (PIT) team, you will play a key role in testing the future of MOIA’s Mobility Platform solution.
Working within the Vehicle Integration Domain, you will be part of an agile, cross-functional team focused on system-level testing, automation, and continuously improving software quality. This hands-on role offers the opportunity to work with advanced automotive technologies, test environments, and autonomous mobility solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute comprehensive system testing across multiple environments, including Hardware-in-the-Loop (HiL) systems and test vehicles, using both manual and automated approaches.
- Develop and automate new and existing test cases to improve regression coverage and testing efficiency.
- Design system-level test cases with clear traceability and comprehensive test coverage.
- Identify, analyse, document, and report software defects using defect tracking tools.
- Champion quality best practices within your team and across the wider engineering organisation.
- Promote shift-left testing, automation, and rapid feedback throughout the development lifecycle.
- Conduct hands-on testing, including autonomous vehicle test drives in Hamburg and collaborative testing sessions.
- Commission, maintain, and prepare HiL systems and vehicles to ensure continuous testing readiness.
Skills & Experience
- Experience working in agile, cross-functional development teams alongside developers, product owners, and other stakeholders.
- Experience testing complex, distributed software systems.
- Knowledge of Unix-based operating systems such as Linux and/or QNX.
- Understanding of automotive communication protocols, including CAN and Automotive Ethernet.
- Experience writing system-level test cases using ALM tools such as Polarion or Codebeamer.
- Knowledge of test automation frameworks and scripting languages such as Python, ECU-TEST, CAPL, or Behave.
- Experience using automotive testing tools including Vector CANoe, dSPACE, or similar platforms.
- Familiarity with ASPICE processes and automotive testing standards.
Personal Qualities
- Able to work independently while contributing effectively within a collaborative team.
- Technically curious with a passion for improving software quality and testing practices.
- Strong understanding of requirements management and Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) tools.
- Comfortable working in agile, fast-paced environments with a collaborative, bottom-up culture.
- Willingness to travel occasionally to locations including Berlin, Munich, and the USA.
Desirable Skills
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, including creating, configuring, and maintaining automated workflows.
- Experience interacting with backend systems such as REST APIs and databases for automated testing.
- Previous experience with cybersecurity testing.
