Senior Game Designer

About the Role

We are looking for a passionate and experienced Senior Game Designer to join the team behind Hunt: Showdown 1896 in our state-of-the-art office in Frankfurt, Germany.

In this hands-on role, you will act as a bridge between multiple disciplines, working closely with Design, Programming, QA, and other teams to bring innovative gameplay and meta features to life. You’ll own features from concept through implementation, iteration, and final delivery while helping create an engaging, high-quality player experience.

Your Responsibilities

• Feature Ownership
  • Own gameplay and meta features from initial concept through implementation and refinement.
  • Deliver polished gameplay systems that meet creative and technical objectives.
• Game Design & Implementation
  • Design and support the implementation of gameplay and meta systems using proprietary development tools.
  • Create and maintain asset databases within CRYENGINE.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Work closely with Design, Programming, QA, and other departments to ensure timely feature delivery.
  • Align resources and coordinate across teams throughout development.
• Playtesting & Iteration
  • Participate in regular playtests.
  • Analyze feedback and continuously improve gameplay quality, usability, and player experience.
• Live Game Support
  • Monitor live player sentiment and community feedback.
  • Support balancing decisions and help prioritize gameplay improvements.
• Quality & Team Support
  • Partner with QA to identify, investigate, and resolve gameplay issues.
  • Share game design expertise and contribute ideas that improve tools, systems, and development workflows.

Your Profile

• Professional Experience
  • 5+ years of Game Design experience within the games industry or a similar role.
• Game Design Expertise
  • Strong understanding of gameplay implementation and balancing.
  • Experience designing gameplay and meta systems in a live service (GaaS) environment.
  • Knowledge of progression systems, in-game economies, and live balancing.
• Passion for Games
  • Strong interest in FPS games and the extraction genre.
• Communication
  • Ability to communicate ideas clearly through verbal discussions and written documentation.
• Personal Qualities
  • Motivated to learn, grow, and embrace new challenges.
  • Willingness to relocate to Frankfurt, Germany.

Nice to Have

• Advanced Microsoft Office skills, including Excel macros.
• Experience with visual scripting tools or programming languages.
• Knowledge of AI design and behavior trees.
• Experience working with character or art production pipelines.
• Active player of Hunt: Showdown 1896.
