Role: Senior Data Engineer

How You Will Make an Impact

• Collaborate with analysts, data scientists, and engineers to build impactful data products and services
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable and observable batch and real-time data pipelines
• Architect and maintain Payrails’ data infrastructure
• Implement and advocate for data governance and security best practices
• Improve CI/CD workflows, data quality tooling, and observability
• Work cross-functionally to design optimal data solutions

What We Are Looking For

• Proven experience building production-grade data pipelines and services
• Strong proficiency in Python; GoLang is a plus
• Expert in SQL, data modeling, and working with OLTP (e.g., PostgreSQL) and OLAP (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery) databases
• Experience with Apache Airflow or similar workflow orchestration tools
• Familiar with Docker and Kubernetes for containerization and orchestration
• Strong communication skills and fluency in English
• Able to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

Bonus Skills

• Experience with streaming technologies like Kafka, Kinesis
• Familiarity with Apache Flink, Apache Beam, or Kafka Streams
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform
• Background in FinTech or payments is a plus
