You’ll join the Sell Online Tribe at SumUp, building tools that empower merchants—from barbers to bakers—to sell products and services anywhere.

• Focus on Online Store and Bookings products
• Enable merchants to manage appointments, showcase offerings, and accept payments
• Build seamless mobile-first experiences

We are a cross-functional team of Product Managers, Designers, and Engineers who collaborate closely and move fast to deliver impactful solutions.

About the Role

You will work on some of SumUp’s most important merchant-facing products as part of the Bifrost team.

• Scale products like Payment Links, Virtual Terminal, and Unified Gift Cards
• Build integration services used across the SumUp ecosystem
• Drive backend excellence in a high-impact environment

What You’ll Do

• Support scalability and growth of high-priority online products
• Contribute to Online Checkout implementations across SumUp
• Participate in planning and sprint reviews with clear estimations
• Monitor and maintain service reliability
• Build new features with clean, maintainable, and testable code
• Optimize performance and scalability
• Conduct and contribute to code reviews

Your Profile

• 5+ years experience in backend engineering
• Strong expertise in Golang
• Solid understanding of system architecture, API design, and data modeling
• Experience with distributed and fault-tolerant systems
• Hands-on experience with AWS and Kubernetes
• Knowledge of Kafka and PostgreSQL
• Passion for building products that help small businesses grow
