Join Nextcloud as a Technical Sales Engineer

Technical Sales Engineers at Nextcloud combine deep technical expertise with sales acumen to provide valuable support and advice on our products. You’ll work closely with both our sales and engineering teams—assisting with bids, tenders, proof-of-concept deployments, and customer technical inquiries.

This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working independently on dedicated projects, while also contributing knowledge to a collaborative team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Persuade clients that our products/services meet their needs in terms of quality, price, and delivery.
  • Collaborate closely with the sales team on customer projects.
  • Prepare and calculate client quotations.
  • Provide pre-sales technical assistance and product education.
  • Support after-sales service and provide technical backup when needed.
  • Organize and deliver product training sessions.
  • Assist with proof-of-concept and pilot deployments alongside support and engineering teams.
  • Attend trade shows, conferences, and other marketing events to support sales and marketing initiatives.
  • Create and deliver technical presentations that showcase how our solutions meet client needs.
  • Coordinate with sales and technical experts to deliver the best outcomes.
  • Assist in the design of custom product solutions.
  • Develop training materials and technical documentation for the sales team.

Required Skills

  • Solid technical background in infrastructure setups for medium and large organizations.
  • Strong sales skills with business and customer focus.
  • Sound judgement and good business sense.
  • Excellent organizational and teamwork capabilities.
  • Analytical thinking and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Independence, self-reliance, and ability to manage your own projects.
  • Knowledge of open source technologies and community-driven products.
  • Basic programming knowledge in PHP, HTML, and CSS.
