Mid-Level Front End Engineer

About the Role

We are looking for a Front End Engineer to join our cross-functional Core Experience team and help people connect with their local communities.

Technical Stewardship

  • Own the frontend architecture and technical direction of the Core Experience team
  • Ensure scalability, performance, reliability, and maintainability
  • Drive the evolution of our React-based frontend
  • Work with state management, SSR (Node.js), and build tools (Vite, Webpack, Rollup, CI/CD)
  • Maintain high standards for clean code, testing, accessibility, performance, and security
  • Contribute to technical decisions and align with backend and product architecture

Delivery & Execution

  • Collaborate within a cross-functional team to deliver high-quality outcomes
  • Support planning, prioritization, and predictable delivery
  • Deliver user value in every sprint and meet commitments
  • Translate business needs into technical roadmaps with Product and Design
  • Balance technical debt, platform evolution, and feature delivery

Your Profile

  • 3–7 years of experience building scalable web applications
  • Strong expertise in React and modern JavaScript/TypeScript
  • Deep understanding of state management (e.g. Redux or alternatives)
  • Experience with frontend architecture principles
  • Hands-on experience with advertising integrations (ad serving, tracking, tag management)
  • Experience with SSR (Node.js), modern build tools, and CI/CD pipelines
  • Strong collaboration skills across design, backend, and product teams
  • Ownership mindset with focus on outcomes
  • Fluent in English (German is a plus)

  • Experience with:
    • Braze
    • Google Ads Manager
    • Google Tag Manager
    • Cookieless targeting
    • EUID implementations
