Position: MES Engineer

The MES Engineer supports, develops, and/or deploys Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and equipment to fulfill business needs. This role involves providing deep support for new and existing manufacturing applications, systems, and equipment by combining strong business understanding with technical expertise.

Key Objectives / Deliverables

  • Develop application knowledge and business context
  • Serve as an expert in MES applications and their business usage
  • Translate business processes into technical requirements and vice versa
  • Create or update electronic execution tickets
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, legal, and quality requirements
  • Assist in the validation and deployment of MES systems at the site level
  • Lead delivery and support of digital solutions from the site perspective
  • Identify and drive new opportunities and process improvements with the business
  • Implement necessary changes to manufacturing process workflows within MES
  • Manage workload and prioritization for the manufacturing area
  • Influence and drive value across the organization through digital solutions
  • Provide status reporting and escalate issues when necessary
  • Produce and maintain validation and project documentation
  • Ensure systems remain validated and manage lifecycle processes
  • Align incident, problem, configuration, and change management with business needs

Basic Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Chemistry, Pharmacy, Science, Engineering, or related field
  • 2–3+ years of relevant experience in IT, engineering, or business support
  • Experience working with MES in a GMP environment (e.g., PharmaSuite)
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both business and IT stakeholders

Additional Skills / Preferences

  • Experience in pharmaceutical or GMP environments
  • Background in information security or cyber security
  • Ability to influence without direct authority
  • Knowledge of Computer System Validation (CSV)
  • Strong problem-solving and issue resolution skills
  • Effective prioritization and escalation abilities
  • High learning agility and curiosity
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes and ability to translate to IT requirements
  • Risk-based decision-making capabilities
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Strong account management skills

Additional Information

  • Position based in Concord, North Carolina
  • Full-time onsite position
  • Travel: 10%–15%, including occasional off-hours and weekend work

Compensation & Benefits

  • Anticipated wage range: $63,750 – $180,400
  • Eligibility for company bonus based on individual and company performance
