Department Overview
This opportunity is part of the Global Technology Infrastructure & Operations (GTIO) team, delivering modern foundational technology across Cloud, Networking, and End User Computing. Within GTIO, the Global Restaurant Technology Platform team supports infrastructure tools and services across McDonald’s restaurants worldwide.
Position: Infrastructure Engineer I (Global Restaurant Technology Platform)
As an Infrastructure Engineer, you’ll help shape platform development, integrations, and direction for global restaurant infrastructure—enabling secure, scalable, and high-performance operations across 25,000+ locations.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain innovative platform solutions to improve performance, cost, security, and durability.
- Build automated solutions for OS deployment and image configuration across global systems.
- Lead engineering tasks for modular image development, hardware driver integration, and device management.
- Create and manage platform roadmaps aligned with enterprise strategy and cross-functional teams.
- Collaborate with restaurant and enterprise teams on platform standards and integrations.
- Provide technical guidance and remove engineering roadblocks.
- Contribute to architectural decisions and infrastructure strategy.
- Enable scalable, global deployment through automation, monitoring, and DevOps practices.
Basic Qualifications
- Experience with Microsoft OS, MECM/SCCM, task sequencing, and secure golden image configuration.
- Skilled in automated OS deployments, scripting (PowerShell, Bash), and modular image development.
- Proficiency in Python, .NET, and C#.
- Understanding of Microsoft/Linux server and client systems, and Android/iOS environments.
- Experience with system monitoring tools (SCOM, NewRelic, SolarWinds) and dashboard/reporting platforms.
- Familiarity with DevOps in distributed environments and cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC), IaaS, PaaS, and MDM platforms.
- Experience deploying Edge/Cloud technologies across global environments.
- Ability to influence and collaborate across product/platform teams in a global organization.
- Experience with infrastructure platforms meeting global security and compliance standards.
Experience
- Previous technical internships or software development roles.
- Strong programming fundamentals and experience in object-oriented design.
- Knowledge of optimization mathematics (linear/nonlinear programming).
- Strong communication skills and a passion for high-quality, user-focused solutions.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary Range: $75,700.00 – $94,620.00
