About the Role

We are looking for a Privacy & Compliance Officer to oversee and advance privacy and regulatory compliance across our growing national telemedicine platform. This role is critical to ensuring adherence to HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, and related federal/state laws. You will serve as the designated Privacy Officer, driving education, audits, risk management, and regulatory communication while collaborating across clinical, operational, legal, and IT teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the organization’s Privacy Officer, ensuring compliance with HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, and state privacy laws.
  • Monitor, investigate, and respond to privacy or compliance-related incidents, complaints, and regulatory inquiries.
  • Develop and update internal policies, procedures, and training materials related to healthcare compliance and data privacy.
  • Conduct compliance audits and risk assessments, ensuring proactive identification and mitigation of issues.
  • Manage and track regulatory updates and industry changes, advising leadership on implications and required actions.
  • Lead compliance-related education and training programs for clinical and non-clinical staff.
  • Support the intake, investigation, and resolution of privacy complaints and incidents, including hotline and tracking systems.
  • Collaborate across departments to integrate compliance frameworks into day-to-day operations.
  • Maintain and analyze compliance metrics and risk indicators.
  • Coordinate third-party audits, subpoenas, and government requests.
  • Support credentialing workflows and conflict of interest disclosures.
  • Oversee physical office compliance related to HIPAA, the Controlled Substances Act, and other federal/state regulations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required (preferred: Healthcare Administration, Law, Public Health, or related field).
  • CHC or CHPC certification preferred, or willingness to obtain within 12 months of hire.
  • 3–5 years of experience in healthcare compliance, preferably in multi-state or telehealth organizations.
  • Strong working knowledge of HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, and related regulatory environments.
  • Excellent writing, documentation, and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to interpret and apply regulations in real-time business contexts.
  • Comfort working with remote platforms (e.g., Zoom, Slack, Google Workspace); macOS familiarity is a plus.
  • Ability to travel up to 15% of the time.
  • Reliable high-speed internet and private, professional home office setup.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base Salary: $120,000 – $140,000 annually (based on skills, experience, and market alignment)
