About the Role
As part of the Marketing Technologies Squad within the Lifecycle Tribe, this role partners closely with marketing teams to automate and scale marketing processes through streamlined tooling.
You will contribute to integrating, maintaining, and scaling marketing platform initiatives that support acquisition channels. The MarTech team combines engineering expertise, ML models, tools, and robust infrastructure to power high-performing marketing operations.
Your Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain marketing automation solutions operating as reliable, highly available production systems aligned with SumUp’s microservice architecture
- Design, develop, and maintain backend services and supporting infrastructure
- Write high-quality, scalable code following established engineering standards and best practices
- Build tools for campaign setup, creative generation, feed generation, and budget allocation
- Develop user-facing workflows (frontend interfaces) enabling marketing teams to operate autonomously
- Implement and maintain data integrations and third-party service orchestration with a focus on reliability and resilience
- Support and enhance existing solutions such as referral, affiliate, and content-related workflows
- Collaborate closely with Data Engineers, Data Scientists, and Software Engineers across Lifecycle and Online Marketing teams
What We’re Looking For
- 3+ years of experience in full-stack software development
- Experience with Go and Python (preferred)
- Hands-on experience building web UIs using TypeScript or JavaScript
- Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs in microservice environments
- Strong knowledge of SQL, with practical experience in PostgreSQL and Kafka
- Experience working with event-driven architectures
- Familiarity with solutions leveraging generative models
- Solid understanding of system architecture, software design principles, data modelling, and API design
- Collaborative mindset with openness to feedback and continuous improvement
- Strong ownership and accountability for delivering high-quality solutions
- Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills
