Full time Data Center Technician

About ZAP-Hosting

ZAP-Hosting operates its own server hardware across 8 locations worldwide and serves more than 30,000 active customers with game servers, VPS, and dedicated servers. For our site in Eygelshoven (NL, near Aachen), we’re looking for a hands-on Data Center Technician (m/f/d) who enjoys building, fixing, and improving real infrastructure — not just processing tickets.

You’ll get substantial ownership, quick decision-making paths, and a practical setup: an office and warehouse directly inside the data center.

Your Tasks

  • Assemble new servers (primarily Supermicro) and work on HPE blade systems.
  • Perform hardware repairs and component replacements (CPU, RAM, mainboard, blades, etc.).
  • Manage inventory and maintain accurate hardware and parts documentation.
  • Oversee the on-site warehouse (stock, ordering, material flow).
  • Handle very basic Juniper switch tasks (initial setup, base config — AI-assisted setup is welcome).
  • Collaborate closely with on-site data center technicians.
  • Coordinate with our 2nd/3rd level team in Münster via Slack (remote hands, troubleshooting, status updates).

Your Profile

Must-have

  • Hands-on experience with server hardware (builds, swaps, repairs) — junior profiles welcome.
  • Solid basics in Debian Linux.
  • First experience with Proxmox (setup, basic understanding, common tasks).
  • Structured and reliable working style (inventory, warehouse, documentation).
  • Driver’s license (Class B) and mobility.
  • Good internal communication skills (team + data center staff).

Nice-to-have

  • Basic exposure to Juniper (even very rudimentary knowledge is sufficient).
  • Basic English and/or German skills.

Benefits

  • Permanent contract with ZAP-Hosting.
  • 30 days of vacation.
  • Salary negotiable.
  • Classic Mon–Fri schedule.
  • Optional weekend/emergency work (with compensation).
  • Occasional work-from-home possible (e.g., documentation or planning tasks).
  • Dedicated office inside the Eygelshoven data center, including on-site warehouse.
  • Three monitors per workstation.
  • Air-conditioned workplace.
  • Flat hierarchies, young team, and lots of room to shape and improve processes.

Start Date

As soon as possible.

How to Apply

If you’re excited about real hands-on infrastructure work — not just “ticket processing” — then apply now. Your CV is enough to get started; feel free to add a short note about your hardware/Linux experience.
