Locations

Solon, OH; Arlington, VA; Fremont, MI; Seattle, WA – Headquarters locations and select factories throughout the Midwest/Southeast.

Important: Candidates without food or beverage manufacturing experience cannot be considered for this expert-level position.

Position Summary

This role provides process engineering technical expertise to the Technical & Production teams. You will teach, coach, assess, refine, implement, and support continuous improvement systems to enhance operational performance and business objectives. Responsibilities include developing manufacturing and packaging processes, performing validation evaluations, and writing/executing validation protocols.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Build Product & Process Mastership in Factory and Technical Application Group (TAG) teams.
  • Teach, coach, and assess factory experts to strengthen processing capabilities.
  • Provide guidance and mentoring to TAG team members to deepen understanding of processes and implications for new product development.
  • Partner with R&D and vendors to develop training content for key processes.
  • Optimize and improve existing processes across manufacturing facilities.
  • Conduct process capability testing and implement continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Develop or refine processing equipment standards and routines, including operation, cleaning, inspection, maintenance, startup, shutdown, and changeover procedures.
  • Apply problem-solving methodologies (Go-See-Think-Do, Fishbone, 5 Whys, etc.) to deliver optimal solutions.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and R&D on new process development, equipment installation, and start-up.
  • Lead or support commissioning, qualification, and validation of new processing equipment/systems/lines.

Requirements & Education

  • B.A. or B.S. degree required, preferably in Engineering or Operations-related field.
  • Hands-on experience with Continuous Improvement (CI) implementation or similar methodologies.
  • Travel up to 50% is required.

Experience

  • Minimum 8 years in engineering or process roles within food and beverage manufacturing operations.
  • Factory experience to provide credibility with Factory Managers and teams.
  • Deep understanding of factory operations, equipment, automation, maintenance, production strategies, and quality control.
  • Hands-on experience implementing continuous improvement initiatives with measurable results.

  • Ability to manage complex issues and prioritize multiple demands.
  • Analytical mindset for fact-based decision making and performance optimization.
  • Leadership capability in cross-functional settings.
  • Experience incorporating safety into process/equipment design.
  • Project management expertise.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to interact professionally with managers, technicians, operators, and subject matter experts.

Compensation

The approximate salary range for this position is $120,000 – $150,000 base per year. Compensation may vary based on knowledge, skills, abilities, and location.
