About the Role
As an Equipment Engineer at Micron Technology in Manassas, VA, you’ll be responsible for 300mm equipment in a high-tech semiconductor manufacturing line. You’ll leverage automation systems for high-volume production, support new tool installations, and drive continuous improvement in equipment performance, measurement sensitivity, and cost-efficiency.
You’ll collaborate across engineering teams, lead vendor engagement for tool support and improvement, and take ownership of problem-solving initiatives. This role offers hands-on experience in state-of-the-art cleanroom environments and exposure to world-class semiconductor fabrication processes.
Responsibilities
- Utilize automation systems to drive high-volume manufacturing.
- Optimize tool and process conditions to reduce errors and improve sensitivity of measurements.
- Support tool installation and integration with a focus on CVD equipment (e.g., LAM/Novellus, AMAT, TEL Trias).
- Collaborate with engineering and vendor teams to resolve issues and drive improvement initiatives.
- Implement statistical process control (SPC) and other quality systems.
- Document procedures and train shift personnel as needed.
- Drive cost-reduction strategies through vendor collaboration and procedural enhancements.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Two or fewer years of full-time work experience.
- Hands-on experience with CVD semiconductor tools (e.g., LAM, AMAT Producer/Centura, TEL Trias).
- Detail-oriented, data-driven, and able to analyze and improve tool performance using Pareto analysis and CIP strategies.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams and vendors.
- Understanding of semiconductor facilities systems (e.g., HPM, VMBs, scrubbers).
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- In-depth knowledge of semiconductor equipment.
- Experience working in cleanroom environments.
- Familiarity with semiconductor safety protocols and cleanroom procedures.
