To advance the next generation of soil sensing technology, we are looking for an Embedded Firmware Developer to build the on-device software that transforms hardware measurements into reliable field data.
Your Role
As an Embedded Firmware Developer, you will take ownership of firmware development for our soil sensor systems, including sensor head electronics and control units used in agricultural field environments.
- Design robust, real-time firmware for optical and electrochemical sensors
- Manage data acquisition and signal processing
- Ensure reliable communication under harsh outdoor conditions
- Collaborate closely with hardware, optics, and mechanical teams from prototype to field-ready device
- Optimize power management and ensure stable device operation
Your Responsibilities
- Develop and debug firmware for soil measurement devices
- Create software and hardware tools for diagnostics, testing, and validation
- Interface various sensors with MCU or SOM platforms
- Document code clearly and maintain technical documentation
- Collaborate on system design, interfaces, and protocols
- Participate in design and code reviews
- Support hardware-related software troubleshooting
Your Profile
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field
- 3–5 years of relevant professional experience
- Expert knowledge of C/C++
- Extensive embedded firmware experience (bare-metal on STM32, STM32CubeIDE; RTOS is a plus)
- Strong understanding of ARM architecture and internal peripherals (Timers, PWM, Interrupts, RTC, ADCs)
- Experience implementing state machines from diagrams to code
- Strong knowledge of communication protocols (UART, I2C, SPI, CAN; USB, ISOBUS, SMBus as a plus)
- Extensive experience writing sensor drivers
- Proficiency with Git and build systems/pipelines
- Comfortable using Linux shell
- Experience bringing up and debugging circuit boards
- Strong ability to read and interpret datasheets
- Solid electrical engineering fundamentals
- Hands-on experience with oscilloscopes and logic analyzers
- Preferred: Strong knowledge of Python
