Your Tasks

  • Supervise the overall design direction of materials created by the European Artwork & Design department
  • Oversee licensed and Nintendo merchandise featuring Nintendo IP, including characters
  • Create compelling designs/layouts for packaging, PR materials, giveaways, event booths, displays, etc., based on assets from Nintendo HQ in Japan
  • Ensure adherence to Nintendo’s global quality standards and appeal to the European market
  • Develop deep understanding of Nintendo’s design standards and coordinate design approvals with internal stakeholders
  • Manage the licensing and co-promotional design approval process between Nintendo and external partners
  • Accelerate approval cycles by making targeted design proposals to clarify adjustment points
  • Educate internal and external partners on Nintendo IP guidelines
  • Support creation of internal documents, process guidelines, and training materials
  • Perform other administrative and design-related tasks as assigned by your supervisor

Your Profile

  • University degree in Graphic Design or comparable education
  • Several years of professional experience in merchandise approval and/or development
  • Experience in graphic design and/or art direction for character goods, packaging, advertising, logos, fonts, style guides, etc.
  • Fluent spoken and written English skills
  • Expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud (especially Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
  • Strong communication and project management skills
  • Highly structured, detail-oriented working style with adherence to brand guidelines
  • Team-oriented, flexible, and collaborative mindset
  • Strong interest in Nintendo IP, products, characters, and Japanese culture

Note: Based on experience, this role may be offered as an Associate position.

Location: This position requires relocation to Frankfurt am Main, Germany and regular commuting to the office.
