Design Engineer – Qonto

Join us as a Design Engineer to bridge the gap between Tech and Design, scale our processes, and accelerate product innovation. You will tackle high-impact challenges immediately, such as a major interface overhaul and automating our localization processes.

What You’ll Do

• Build production-quality components and interactions that are both delightful to use and easy to reuse across the product.
• Rapidly prototype new concepts and features to validate ideas with real interactions before full implementation.
• Bridge the gap between design and engineering by translating Figma designs into robust code and pushing design forward through technical innovation.
• Collaborate closely with designers and engineers to define what’s technically possible and push the boundaries of our product experience.
• Explore and industrialize new tools (AI, automation, localization, etc.) and turn experiments into reliable, documented workflows the whole team can benefit from.

About Your Future Manager

You will work closely with Marion Echevard to shape this new strategic role and help the team ship value to customers 10x faster. You will also collaborate with Didier Hilhorst, VP Design (ex-Uber), who brings deep experience scaling Design Engineering teams and will support you in defining the vision for this role. Both value autonomy, craft obsession, and an entrepreneurial mindset.

About You

• Experience: Proven track record bridging design and tech, with strong background in Mobile Development (SwiftUI, React Native, or Compose) or Frontend engineering.
• Technical mastery: Fluent in HTML/CSS, comfortable with modern dev environments (Terminal, Scripts, Git). Knows when to hack a prototype and when to write production-grade code.
• Tooling obsession: Passionate about industrializing workflows; experience building scripts, plugins, or automations (e.g., Figma to Code); eager to leverage AI tools.
• Design sensibility: Strong eye for design, deep understanding of Design Systems.
• Autonomy & mindset: Comfortable with ambiguity, can define your own roadmap, and rolls up sleeves to get things done.
