Your Department

The Cross Functional Optimisation (MEX) unit drives optimization of Energy Management processes across business units and geographies, supporting Statkraft’s commercial strategy and digital transformation initiatives.

MEX focuses on improving core processes, enabling automated flexibility trading, renewable production forecasting, market access solutions, and digital business capabilities within Energy Management.

Within MEX, the Renewables Forecasting Team (MEXF) owns the end-to-end forecasting process for wind and solar production across all European markets. The team manages forecasting quality, vendor coordination, and data operations to maximize commercial value.

Your Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain metrics to monitor renewable forecasting data quality in both real-time and historical analyses.
• Collaborate with vendors and renewable asset owners to identify and resolve data quality issues.
• Collect, process, and engineer relevant forecasting and operational datasets.
• Analyze, monitor, and benchmark forecast performance from external forecasting providers.
• Support operational forecasting activities by identifying and resolving critical incidents.
• Prepare ad-hoc commercial analyses for internal stakeholders and external partners.
• Provide regular updates and performance evaluations to relevant stakeholders.

Your Profile

• Excellent university degree in:
  • Mathematics
  • Physics
  • Meteorology
  • Engineering
  • Business with a strong quantitative focus
• Professional experience working with time series analysis and large datasets.
• Strong interest in:
  • Short-term energy markets
  • Renewable energy
  • Algorithms
  • Data science
• Strong analytical, investigative, and problem-solving skills.
• Commercial mindset with the ability to connect technical analysis to business value.
• Experience with modelling and programming, preferably using Python.
• Proactive, independent, and structured working style.
• Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
