Senior Product Engineer

Who We Are

We’re bold thinkers and kind teammates, growing fast while staying grounded. Our Nordic roots and global outlook shape a culture of friendliness, creativity, and collaboration, all powered by openness and shared wins.

We care deeply about doing the right thing and doing it together. We aim to improve the flow of goods, time, and energy, and we know we can’t shape the future by clinging to the past. So, we keep evolving, together.

What We Do

RELEX runs the planning decisions behind more than 600 retailers and manufacturers worldwide, deciding at real scale what gets forecast, stocked, priced, promoted, and produced across the entire value chain.

Few problems combine this much data, complexity, and real-world impact. Get it right and a shelf stays stocked, a factory line doesn’t stall, and food doesn’t spoil in a warehouse before it’s sold. Get it wrong, and the consequences show up as real losses for some of the largest retail and manufacturing brands in the world.

We’ve grown for 76 consecutive quarters, and it’s still accelerating. The first half of 2026 was the strongest in the company’s history.

We’re a team of 2,000+ people, headquartered in Helsinki, with offices across Europe, North America, and Asia-Pacific.

The Role

In response to our fast growth, we’re looking for a Product Engineer to help reinvent how RELEX builds and ships forecasting models.

As a team, we own forecasting end to end for our retail and wholesale customers — both the new plugin-based models we’re building and the models already running in production.

We’re reinventing how RELEX builds and ships forecasting, moving from a small number of monolithic models to a growing library of purpose-built, plugin-based models, used by 400 to 500+ customers. This role sits at the core of that transformation.

What We Need You to Do and Be

Bring your ideas. Challenge ours. Grow with us.

  • Design, build, and improve our plugin-based forecasting models end to end, including feature engineering, testing, and iterating on performance in live customer environments.
  • Take forecasting problems from business need to a working model running for a customer, with real ownership over the decisions along the way.
  • Work directly across multiple customer environments, determining what generalizes and what needs to remain customer-specific.
  • Use AI and agentic tools as a core part of how you build, pushing what they can do rather than using them passively.
  • Operate with a high degree of autonomy in a distributed team, without a fixed playbook for how the work gets done.

What You’ll Bring to the Table

Our five values are our playbook. We speak up when things don’t make sense. We stop doing what doesn’t add value. We stay curious, back each other up, and make space for both innovation and laughter.

  • Applied or theoretical understanding of modern forecasting and modelling methods.
  • A proven track record of independently owning ML or modelling work end to end, from first concept through to production.
  • Genuine enthusiasm for agentic, AI-assisted engineering, with comfort being evaluated on how you reason through problems and direct AI tools, not only on manual coding.
  • Comfort working with real ambiguity and no fixed process.
  • Confidence making decisions independently and shipping in weeks, not months.
  • Comfort communicating directly with customers and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for customer work, approximately 1–2 trips per year.
  • Prior experience in retail or supply chain is welcome but not required.
  • Fluent written and spoken English.
  • Experience working with an international team, along with strong communication and organizational skills, is a bonus.

What We Offer in Return

You’ll be supported and given the space to thrive. We offer meaningful work, flexibility, and a culture that backs you to share your voice and be authentic.

  • First-mover ownership: Take ownership of an agentic engineering capability that doesn’t yet exist at RELEX, with real permission to start simple and fail fast.
  • International career and learning opportunities.
  • Career growth: Join a rapidly growing and financially robust software company with exciting opportunities for development.
  • Flexible working: Flexibility in how and where you work.
  • Global growth environment: Room to thrive in a fast-growing global company with a strong market position.
  • Practical benefits that support work, family, wellness, and everyday life.
  • Annual leave.
  • Diverse, inclusive, and supportive work culture.
  • Meaningful impact: Work that helps reduce waste and improve sustainability.
  • Ownership and autonomy within a flat organizational structure.
  • Two paid volunteering days each year.
