About the Role
We are looking for a Senior 3D Gameplay Artist (Animation & VFX) to take ownership of the visual quality and game feel of our gameplay mechanics on All in Hole, one of the world’s top-performing mobile games.
Working closely with Art Direction, Game Design, and Gameplay Engineering, you will own gameplay objects from early greybox prototypes through animation, visual effects, implementation, and final polish. Your work will directly shape how players experience the game by creating interactions that feel satisfying, responsive, and memorable.
Your Responsibilities
- Own Gameplay Visuals
- Take gameplay mechanics from greybox and UX blockout through animation, VFX, and final implementation.
- Own the visual quality and game feel of gameplay interactions end to end.
- 3D Animation
- Create hand-keyed animations for gameplay objects, including idle, activation, interaction feedback, and state transitions.
- Apply strong animation fundamentals such as timing, anticipation, weight, and follow-through.
- Visual Effects & Shaders
- Create particle effects, shaders, and gameplay feedback that enhance readability and player experience.
- Design impactful visual effects that clearly communicate gameplay events.
- Concept to Implementation
- Translate 2D concepts into engaging 3D assets while preserving creative intent.
- Collaborate with designers to improve concepts where gameplay requires adjustments.
- Unity Development
- Prototype and iterate directly in Unity using prefabs, colliders, animator state machines, and gameplay systems.
- Rapidly test and refine ideas independently.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with artists, designers, and engineers throughout the production process.
- Contribute to maintaining a high visual quality standard across gameplay assets.
Your Profile
- Professional Experience
- 5+ years of experience creating 3D gameplay animations for mobile games.
- Animation Expertise
- Strong hand-keyed animation skills for gameplay objects.
- Excellent understanding of animation fundamentals.
- Visual Effects
- Experience creating high-quality particle effects and gameplay VFX.
- Ability to build effects that improve gameplay clarity rather than distract from it.
- Gameplay Understanding
- Strong understanding of gameplay mechanics and player experience.
- Ability to collaborate with designers to improve gameplay interactions.
- Technical Skills
- Practical experience with Unity, including prefabs, Animator, and state machines.
- Experience creating and debugging custom shaders.
- Ability to independently prototype and iterate gameplay features.
- Creative Skills
- Ability to faithfully translate concepts into polished 3D assets.
- Strong visual communication skills through storyboards and prototypes.
