About the Role
We’re looking for a Founding Technical Leader to help define the future of engineering at Senvo. This is not a traditional management role—it’s a hands-on builder role for someone who wants to shape architecture, engineering culture, AI workflows, and product direction from the ground up.
During your first months, you’ll work directly with the founder, contributing production Python code while designing the technical foundations that will support the company’s long-term growth. You’ll establish engineering practices, define how humans and AI collaborate, and help build an exceptional engineering organisation from first principles.
What You’ll Do
- Own the platform: Drive the evolution of Senvo’s auditing platform through modern backend architecture, AI-native development, and agentic workflows.
- Define our AI operating model: Design the processes, tooling, review practices, and workflows that enable seamless collaboration between engineers and AI.
- Set the technical direction: Own the platform architecture, technical roadmap, and long-term engineering strategy.
- Build an exceptional engineering team: Recruit, mentor, and develop outstanding engineers while maintaining an uncompromising quality standard.
- Shape the engineering culture: Establish the values, principles, and engineering practices that will scale with the company.
- Increase engineering velocity: Continuously improve developer productivity, software quality, reliability, and delivery speed.
- Make strategic technology decisions: Determine what should be built internally, what should be outsourced, and where AI creates the greatest leverage.
What Success Looks Like
During your first year, you will:
- Deliver the next generation of Senvo’s auditing platform built around AI-native workflows.
- Establish the company’s engineering operating model and technical foundations.
- Hire and onboard two to four exceptional engineers.
- Significantly improve engineering velocity through agentic software development practices.
- Define the scalable architecture that supports Senvo’s next phase of growth.
What You’ll Bring
- Builder mentality: You enjoy writing production code as much as defining technical strategy and building engineering organisations.
- Python expertise: Deep experience building and operating production backend systems using Python.
- AI-native engineering experience: Daily hands-on use of AI development tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, Codex, or similar. You already integrate AI into software development workflows.
- Technical leadership: Experience leading high-performing engineering teams while remaining a strong individual contributor.
- Systems thinking: Ability to design scalable, maintainable architectures with a long-term perspective.
- Ownership mindset: Comfortable making decisions with incomplete information, taking responsibility for outcomes, and continuously raising engineering standards.
