About the Role

We are looking for a (Senior) Category Manager who combines strategic thinking with hands-on execution and enjoys turning market insights into measurable business impact.

In this role, you will own several key consumer electronics categories and play a central role in driving their growth, profitability, and long-term success. You will work at the intersection of retail, e-commerce, circular technology, data analytics, and AI-supported decision-making.

This position offers significant ownership, cross-functional collaboration, and the opportunity to independently lead initiatives that directly influence business performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own Category Performance:
    Manage the full commercial performance of assigned categories, including P&L ownership, inventory health, profitability, and growth targets.
  • Develop Category Strategies:
    Define and execute category growth strategies based on customer behavior, market trends, competitor analysis, and commercial opportunities.
  • Optimize Assortment & Lifecycle Management:
    Continuously improve assortment quality, product availability, and lifecycle management to maximize customer relevance and business performance.
  • Drive Pricing Excellence:
    Collaborate closely with Pricing and Data Science teams to develop pricing strategies and make informed day-to-day pricing decisions.
  • Analyze Performance Drivers:
    Identify growth opportunities through detailed analysis of traffic, conversion rates, pricing, margins, inventory availability, and operational metrics.
  • Execute Commercial Initiatives:
    Plan and deliver category campaigns and growth initiatives together with Marketing and CRM teams.
  • Collaborate Across Functions:
    Partner with Pricing, Marketing, Operations, Supply, and Quality teams to improve customer experience and category performance.
  • Lead Cross-Functional Projects:
    Independently drive initiatives involving multiple stakeholders and departments.
  • Leverage AI & Automation:
    Utilize AI-powered tools and automation workflows to improve decision-making, operational efficiency, and opportunity identification.
  • Translate Insights into Action:
    Turn complex analyses into clear recommendations and actionable business decisions.

What You’ll Bring

  • 5+ years of experience in Category Management, E-Commerce, Retail, Consulting, or another highly analytical commercial role.
  • Strong commercial understanding with experience managing P&L performance, pricing strategies, inventory management, and e-commerce KPIs.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions in complex and ambiguous environments.
  • Experience working with large datasets and business intelligence tools such as:

    • SQL
    • Looker
    • Power BI
    • Tableau
    • Excel
    • Similar analytics platforms
  • Strong interest in AI-powered workflows, automation, and technology-driven decision-making.
  • Experience using AI tools in daily business operations is considered a strong advantage.
  • Proven ability to independently manage complex cross-functional projects and stakeholder relationships.
  • Entrepreneurial, hands-on, and solution-oriented mindset with a strong sense of ownership.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex topics clearly and effectively.
  • Experience collaborating with Marketing and/or Paid Marketing teams is a plus.
  • Fluency in English is required.
  • German or another European language is a plus.
