Job Overview

We are looking for a Director, Data Platform to lead the architecture, strategy, and operation of our internal data hub, ensuring reliable, high-quality, and timely market data delivery across the organization.
This role is ideal for a leader who thrives on building scalable, business-critical data platforms and leading high-performing engineering and operations teams.
Your Tasks

Platform Strategy & Vision:
Define and execute the vision for Solactive’s data platform, ensuring scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency across infrastructure and operations.

Business & Product Alignment:
Translate market data and client requirements into technical platform capabilities aligned with business objectives and product strategies.

Team Leadership:
Lead and develop a multidisciplinary team of approximately 30 data engineers and operations professionals while fostering a culture of accountability, trust, and continuous improvement.

End-to-End Data Operations:
Oversee data ingestion, normalization, processing, and distribution across hundreds of external market data sources.

Data Architecture & Governance:
Design and maintain governance frameworks ensuring data quality, lineage, compliance, and operational excellence.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Drive strategic alignment across engineering, product, and operations teams to deliver shared business outcomes.

Innovation & Technology Evaluation:
Evaluate and implement internal and external technologies, services, and tools to continuously evolve the data platform.

Stakeholder Communication:
Clearly communicate platform vision, progress, and strategic priorities to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Talent Development:
Partner with HR and senior leadership to attract, develop, and retain top talent while building long-term organizational capability.
Your Profile

Professional Experience:
10+ years of experience in data engineering, platform management, or infrastructure leadership, including at least 5 years managing large teams.

Financial Market Data Expertise:
Strong understanding of financial market data including pricing, reference data, corporate actions, ESG data, and alternative data sources.

Technical Expertise:
Deep experience with modern data architectures and technologies such as Kafka, Airflow, Flink, Iceberg, Databricks, Snowflake, and major cloud platforms including AWS, GCP, or Azure.

Large-Scale Systems Experience:
Proven ability to build and operate high-volume data ingestion and processing systems for financial or reference data environments.

Leadership Skills:
Demonstrated success leading multidisciplinary teams and delivering business-critical systems within complex organizations.

Excellent communication, stakeholder management, strategic thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
