Thomann is currently looking for a Senior Software Quality Engineer (f/m/x) based in:

  • Berlin
  • Erlangen
  • Remote within Germany

With at least five years of professional experience in software quality engineering, you will play a key role in shaping the future of quality standards and helping elevate the team to the next level.

You will collaborate closely with multiple teams, contribute innovative ideas, and act as a role model for quality-focused engineering practices.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Develop and enforce quality standards across software systems, applications, and services
  • Design, build, and maintain automated testing environments while promoting testing best practices within engineering teams
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with:

    • Software Engineers
    • System Architects
    • Organizational Developers
    • UI/UX Designers
    • Product Owners
  • Promote a strong testing mindset throughout the organization to ensure quality remains a top priority
  • Work closely with the support team to evaluate and prioritize incoming issues based on severity and business impact
  • Take ownership of the complete defect lifecycle, including:

    • Issue identification
    • Investigation
    • Resolution
    • Prevention strategies

What You Should Bring

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Software Quality Engineering
  • Experience working with modern web technologies including:

    • TypeScript
    • JavaScript
    • Node.js
  • Hands-on experience with testing frameworks such as:

    • CodeceptJS
    • Playwright
    • Similar automation tools
  • Strong understanding of:

    • QA methodologies
    • Testing practices
    • Testing tools
  • Experience writing:

    • End-to-end tests
    • Integration tests
    • Unit tests
  • Proven experience building a quality culture within international and cross-functional environments
  • Strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills
  • Passion for software quality and delivering outstanding user experiences
  • Fluent English skills (C1+), both written and spoken
  • German language skills are considered a plus
