You will take on a central role in the development and stable operation of core applications, combining technical expertise with business understanding and actively shaping a reliable, efficient, and future-oriented system landscape.
Your Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and operate business-critical insurance applications on the IBM i platform using RPG (RPG III, RPG/ILE, RPG/Free)
- Ensure stable, efficient, and secure operation of core systems
- Provide 2nd-level support for IBM i applications
- Analyze errors and identify development and optimization opportunities
- Implement fixes and enhancements and present solutions to business stakeholders
- Translate business requirements into technical concepts and ensure smooth implementation
Your Profile
- Degree in Computer Science, IT, or a comparable qualification
- Several years of experience in RPG development and business application support
- Strong knowledge of RPG (RPG III, RPG/ILE, RPG/Free), IBM Db2 for i, SQL, and web services
- Experience with database design, system integration, and service-oriented architectures
- Knowledge of traditional development models (Waterfall) and ITIL is a plus
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders
- High commitment to quality and reliability
- Fluent English and/or German
