Site Reliability Engineer

About Zattoo

The ideal blend of stability and flexibility. A genuinely human employer that cares for people and the planet. True autonomy to shape what comes next, for us and you. This is the perfect platform to take your career where you want.

Back in 2005, we pioneered Europe’s first TV streaming service. Today, we’re the world’s first certified climate-neutral TV streaming provider. Several million users across three countries. Over 230 colleagues of 47 nationalities. We’re the grown-up start-up, shaping a better future since day one. Friendly, international, inclusive, reliable, and transparent – it’s why our team trusts us and believes in what we do.

The Role & The SRE Team

At Zattoo, we’re building the TV platform of the future. With ever-growing demand for unicast TV delivery, we’re scaling our custom-built infrastructure to deliver live and on-demand video at multi-Tbps scale. Owning the full chain—from ingest, encoding/transcoding, packaging, to delivery—our engineers have the unique opportunity to shape how TV is experienced in the future.

As a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE), you’ll help us scale, optimize, and secure our systems while ensuring maximum performance and reliability. From improving monitoring and alerting, building 24/7 operations tools, to collaborating with backend and SRE/Ops teams—your impact will be felt across the platform.

If you’re passionate about distributed systems, automation, and on-premise infrastructure, this is your chance to push streaming TV technology to the next level.

What You’ll Do

  • Build and support on-premise infrastructure to ensure smooth operation of critical systems.
  • Analyze, understand, and scale Zattoo’s core services for efficiency and reliability.
  • Optimize and automate monitoring, alerting, performance, and profiling setups.
  • Build and improve tools to monitor and control services.
  • Propose and implement improvements across platforms, infrastructure, tooling, and processes.
  • Collaborate with engineers to design and run performant, scalable, and reliable systems.
  • Champion stability and security by identifying weak spots, raising awareness, and developing mitigation strategies.
  • Participate in the on-call rotation to respond to incidents and maintain service reliability.

What You’ll Bring

  • 2+ years of hands-on experience in Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, or Operations, ideally operating large-scale distributed systems.
  • Strong Kubernetes experience, preferably on-premise clusters.
  • Experience with containerized environments (Docker, LXC, Kubernetes) and virtualized systems (VMs).
  • Experience with configuration management and infrastructure automation (e.g., Puppet, Ansible).
  • Understanding of telemetry, observability, and monitoring practices (metrics, tracing, logging).
  • Hands-on experience with ArgoCD and progressive delivery strategies (e.g., Argo Rollouts) in a GitOps environment.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with distributed, multidisciplinary teams and external partners.
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken).
