Head of Payments

Payments are the engine of our business. Every subscription, renewal, and upgrade depends on a seamless, secure, and reliable payment experience.

As we scale globally, we’re creating a new Head of Payments role to build, lead, and own this critical function end to end.

In this pivotal position, you will define and drive the global payments strategy that powers Pipedrive and our customers. You’ll bridge commercial strategy and engineering excellence to create a scalable, high-performance payment infrastructure designed for long-term growth and hyperscale.

Your New Adventure

  • Own global payments strategy: Define and lead Pipedrive’s end-to-end payments vision and performance.
  • Ensure seamless global transactions: Deliver frictionless checkout experiences and reliable processing at enterprise scale.
  • Build and lead the Payments function: Establish strategy, governance, processes, and grow a high-performing team.
  • Lead payment product strategy: Optimize payment flows, expand global payment methods, and evolve PSP architecture.
  • Manage strategic partnerships: Oversee 10+ payment providers (banks and fintechs), including SLAs, commercial terms, and operational performance.
  • Optimize payment KPIs: Improve authorization rates, retries, payment economics, fraud prevention, and chargeback management.
  • Partner with Engineering: Design scalable, resilient, and compliant payment architectures.
  • Oversee Payments BI: Enable automated monitoring, anomaly detection, and executive-level reporting.
  • Ensure compliance: Maintain adherence to PSD2/SCA, PCI, and local regulatory requirements.
  • Act as senior advisor: Influence executive stakeholders and cross-functional leaders on payments strategy and performance.

Does This Sound Like You?

  • Experience: 8–10+ years in Payments within a global merchant, SaaS, or digital business (12+ preferred).
  • Lifecycle expertise: Deep hands-on understanding of authorization, settlement, reconciliation, fraud, and chargebacks.
  • Global payments knowledge: Experience with subscription billing, retries, dunning, and diverse payment methods.
  • Architecture leadership: Experience managing multi-PSP or orchestration setups.
  • Engineering collaboration: Proven ability to partner on APIs, integrations, and platform design.
  • Commercial acumen: Strong grasp of payment economics, cost structures, and optimization strategies.
  • Data-driven mindset: Experience owning payment KPIs and using insights to guide strategy.
  • Leadership: Demonstrated success building and scaling teams or functions.
  • Stakeholder management: Ability to influence executive leadership and cross-functional teams.
  • Language: Fluency in written and spoken English.
