Project Engineer

Project Engineer – Kleve Factory

We are looking for a Project Engineer to join our Kleve factory as part of the Global Engineering Team. In this role, you will support CAPEX projects both in Kleve and at Third Party Manufacturers, ensuring delivery in line with Flora standards and industry best practices.

  • CAPEX Responsibility: €5–10 million annually.
  • Project Scope: Kleve manufacturing site and Third Party Manufacturers.
  • Travel Requirement: Approximately 30% to other factories.
  • Objective: Deliver projects on time, in full, and within budget under the Flora Project Delivery Framework.

Your Responsibilities

  • Technical Design & Execution. Lead feasibility assessments and order-of-magnitude costing for engineering projects in Kleve.
  • Project Support. Assist project managers in delivering growth, continuity, value creation, and decarbonization initiatives.
  • Scope & Documentation. Develop project scopes, URS documentation, and Capital Appropriation Requests.
  • Smaller Project Leadership. Plan and execute smaller projects under senior guidance, ensuring compliance with Flora standards.
  • Value Creation. Identify manufacturing improvement initiatives requiring capital investment and validate savings with Finance.
  • Operational Collaboration. Work with the Plant Leader, Maintenance, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing teams to support OEE improvements and debottlenecking.
  • Contractor Coordination. Oversee mechanical, electrical, and civil contractor activities, ensuring safe and compliant execution.
  • Engineering Standards. Partner with R&D and Global Engineering SMEs for front-end and detailed design alignment.
  • Technical Documentation. Maintain up-to-date documentation and ensure policy compliance.
  • Technical Expertise. Support creams development projects and provide expertise on equipment installation, commissioning, and start-up.

Your Profile

  • Education. Bachelor’s degree in Chemical/Process, Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering.
  • Project Management. Strong project management skills (formal certification is a plus).
  • Industry Experience. Minimum 3 years in a technical FMCG engineering environment and 3+ years in Food & Beverage, Dairy, or FMCG.
  • Technical Knowledge. Solid understanding of food processes, packaging technologies, food safety, GMP standards, and ideally aseptic filling technology.
  • Documentation Skills. Experience working with P&IDs, PFDs, electrical drawings, and functional descriptions.
  • Personal Attributes. High integrity, strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Languages. Fluent in English (written and spoken); German is a strong advantage.
  • Work Style. Comfortable working in a virtual, multicultural environment.
