Staff Data Scientist – Healthcare (f/m/d)

• Salary: €90,000 – €100,000 (fixed annual gross range)
• Stock Options: €40,000 – €80,000
• Additional Benefits: Up to €5,000 annually

Your Role

As a Staff Data Scientist, you will design and implement the next generation of AI-powered imaging applications in healthcare. You will collaborate closely with MRI scientists, product, and business teams to translate Orbem’s industrial MRI expertise into healthcare solutions.

Your Day-to-Day

• Lead the design and implementation of ML solutions for healthcare, especially deep learning models.
• Explore datasets and biomarkers to generate actionable healthcare insights.
• Transfer knowledge from industrial food MRI applications into the healthcare domain.
• Ensure reliability, fairness, interpretability, and robustness of ML systems.
• Collaborate with MRI scientists, product managers, and business experts to build viable solutions.
• Advance internal expertise in ML methods for healthcare imaging.

Your Experience & Skills

Data Science in Medical Imaging

• Significant experience developing ML models for medical imaging.
• Expertise in interpretability methods and uncertainty estimation.

ML Engineering

• Deep knowledge of PyTorch and distributed training.
• Strong Python skills with best-practice coding and design patterns.
• Experience with version control and reproducible, containerized environments.
• Strong background in ML system design, deep learning, and computer vision.

Leadership & Business Acumen

• Proven leadership in cross-functional technical initiatives.
• Experience shaping long-term technical roadmaps aligned with business strategy.
• Strong technical judgment with pragmatic decision-making under uncertainty.

What Makes You Stand Out

• Publications in leading AI/ML medical imaging conferences.
• Experience productizing AI-enabled imaging solutions.
• Knowledge of EU and US clinical regulatory frameworks.
