Your Role – Data Scientist (Operations)

As a Data Scientist in Operations, you will optimize how FINN manages and scales its operational infrastructure. By leveraging advanced forecasting and optimization models, you will predict capacity needs, enable efficient resource allocation, and solve mission-critical operational challenges.

Your Responsibilities

• Generate Data-Driven Insights. Conduct in-depth analyses of operational patterns, capacity dynamics, and resource utilization.
• Build & Validate POCs. Develop and test innovative operational strategies, measuring their impact on KPIs.
• Design Optimization Models. Build and maintain forecasting and optimization models using ML and operations research techniques.
• Shape Operational Strategy. Refine processes to align with growth targets and business objectives.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration. Partner with data, tech, and operations stakeholders to drive impact.

Your Profile

• Education. Master’s degree in a relevant quantitative field (Industrial Engineering, Data Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics); PhD is a plus.
• Experience. 3+ years in operations-heavy environments (logistics, supply chain, mobility, or e-commerce fulfillment).
• Technical Expertise. Strong background in time-series analysis, statistical modeling, forecasting, and optimization from scratch.
• Agentic Development. Proficient in building autonomous or agent-based systems.
• Tech Stack. SQL, Python, and GCP.
• Operations Optimization. Experience deploying capacity planning and logistics optimization solutions end-to-end.
• Stakeholder Management. Ability to communicate technical insights clearly to non-technical and C-level audiences.
• Problem Solver. Strong analytical thinking with a structured approach to complex operational challenges.
• Adaptability. Comfortable in fast-paced, evolving environments.
• Languages. Fluent in English; German is a plus.

Compensation Transparency

The salary range for this role is €69,000 – €80,000 + VSOP. Compensation within this range depends on experience, skills, qualifications, education, seniority, and performance as assessed during the interview process. This reflects the fair compensation band at the time of posting and may be adjusted in the future.
