The Role: Software Engineering Team Lead – Reach Ads

We are looking for an experienced and visionary Software Engineering Team Lead to guide the development of Reach Ads. You will build and lead a diverse hybrid team (Berlin-based and remote), collaborating closely with Product and other stakeholders to shape the future of digital advertising technology.

This is a unique opportunity to drive innovation, influence product strategy, and make a significant impact in the ad-tech space.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Team Leadership: Lead and grow a diverse team of talented engineers
• Strategy: Define mid- and long-term technical strategy for the Reach team
• Technology: Work with Java, Python, AWS, and modern cloud-based architectures
• Collaboration: Partner closely with Product and Development to build scalable, maintainable solutions
• Innovation: Drive cutting-edge solutions in digital advertising (ad-tech)
• Technical Excellence: Ensure sound architectural decisions aligned with global systems
• Quality & Reliability: Guarantee system stability, availability, security, and compliance
• Project Oversight: Coordinate projects and maintain high quality standards
• People Development: Mentor, coach, and conduct regular 1:1s
• Culture: Foster a safe, transparent, and high-performing team environment
• Performance Management: Provide continuous feedback and support individual growth
• Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve processes and team outcomes

Product & Strategic Ownership

• Collaborate with the Product Lead and Staff Engineer to shape the future of Reach Ads
• Drive the technical vision and innovation strategy
• Oversee the full software development lifecycle (planning to deployment)
• Ensure timely, high-quality product delivery

Your Profile

• Extensive experience in software engineering with a strong leadership background
• Strong proficiency in Java and solid understanding of software architecture
• Experience working with or leading distributed teams
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Agile mindset and experience with modern development practices
• Strong problem-solving skills and passion for innovation
• Curious, growth-oriented mindset with a desire to challenge and be challenged

Nice to Have

• Hands-on experience with third-party advertising platform integrations (Google Ads, Meta, DV360)
• Background in AdTech
