Senior Quality Assurance Engineer

This position is an expert-level role with a strong focus on hands-on execution and ownership of quality assurance activities across multiple product and solution components.
Beyond executing tests, you will proactively drive QA initiatives, continuously strengthen our QA methodology, and champion improvements across the organization.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Quality Engineer, you will take the lead in defining expected product behavior, designing and maintaining test scenarios, identifying deviations, and driving their resolution in close collaboration with development teams.

With an existing Quality Engineer focused on frontend topics, this role will complement and expand our QA capabilities by taking ownership of quality across both frontend and backend components.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Drive QA topics proactively across the organization, embedding quality early in requirements, architecture, and design decisions.
  • Own quality governance by defining and refining QA methodologies, standards, and best practices across frontend, backend, and data components.
  • Collaborate closely with development teams to define expected product behavior, acceptance criteria, and ensure testability.
  • Lead cross-functional discussions on quality risks, mitigation strategies, and release readiness.
  • Build, maintain, and optimize tests, datasets, and tooling for scalable and reliable QA execution.
  • Mentor and guide team members by promoting quality awareness and supporting the growth of QA capabilities.
  • Identify gaps in QA coverage and proactively implement solutions to improve product robustness.
  • Evaluate and adopt new QA tools, frameworks, and technologies to increase efficiency and quality.
  • Maintain quality metrics and reporting, providing visibility into product quality status and trends.
  • Ensure robust validation and monitoring for backend services and data pipelines.
  • Contribute to release management by validating readiness, coordinating defect triage, and influencing go/no-go decisions.

YOUR PROFILE

WHAT IS REQUIRED

  • Strong understanding of software development principles, including design patterns, code quality, and code review processes.
  • Good knowledge of frontend technologies (e.g. React, Node.js) and backend concepts (e.g. databases, SQL).
  • Experience with QA and test automation tools such as Xray, Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, Postman, k6, Grafana, SonarQube, or comparable tools.
  • Ability to build and maintain a structured test pyramid (unit, integration, and E2E tests) with quality gates.
  • Hands-on QA capability, including writing custom scripts to test APIs, databases, and individual components.
  • Knowledge of version control systems (e.g. Git) and CI/CD pipelines (e.g. GitLab CI).
  • Strong understanding of Agile software development methodologies, including Scrum.

NICE TO HAVE

  • Knowledge of data analytics tools (e.g. Power BI) for test result visualization.
  • Experience with data science and machine learning.
  • Knowledge of big data pipeline technologies such as Trino, Flink, or Apache Kafka.
  • Experience with big data and IoT applications in the context of heavy machinery.
  • Knowledge of hardware, data logging, edge computing, and related embedded software.
