Rack and Stack Datacentre Technician

Contract Details

• 3-month contract with possible extension

Key Responsibilities

• Perform rack and stack installation of servers, network devices, and related hardware in data centre environments
• Install, label, route, and terminate structured cabling (copper and fiber) in accordance with industry standards
• Configure and support Cisco networking equipment, including switches and routers
• Connect and manage AC and DC power systems, including PDUs and redundant power configurations
• Ensure proper cable management, airflow optimization, and correct equipment placement within racks
• Conduct hardware troubleshooting, diagnostics, and basic network connectivity testing
• Follow data centre best practices, safety procedures, and change management protocols
• Assist with equipment decommissioning, relocation, and asset tracking
• Maintain accurate documentation for installations, cabling layouts, and inventory
• Collaborate with network engineers, operations teams, and vendors to support infrastructure projects

Requirements

Qualifications & Skills

• 2+ years of experience in rack and stack installations, preferably within data centre environments
• Strong knowledge of Cisco networking equipment and structured cabling systems
• Familiarity with AC/DC power systems, cable routing, and termination
• Ability to lift and maneuver heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs)
• Solid understanding of data centre best practices and safety protocols
