Senior Software Engineer

About the Role

As part of the SumUp team, you’ll play an important role in building and maintaining key services that power our in-store products, integrations, and payments. Our products support thousands of devices, millions of interactions, and billions of sent messages annually, including public-facing dashboards, internal and partner APIs, and back-office tools.

What You’ll Do

  • Maintain high-quality code through automated tests, good architecture, and code review processes.
  • Own, design, and code product initiatives from start to finish.
  • Participate in collaborative problem solving, planning sessions, and retrospectives.
  • Work closely with designers, product managers, QA, and support teams to ensure the best possible product.

Must-Have Expertise

  • 6+ years experience with modern JavaScript/TypeScript and back-end frameworks (React/Next.js, Angular, Python/Django).
  • Strong team player; experienced in small, cross-functional teams.
  • Eagerness to take on new challenges with a positive attitude and growth mindset.

Compensation

  • Base salary range: $155,000 – $175,000
  • Stock Option Plan participation
  • Final compensation based on experience and location
