Product Engineer IPOS

Tasks

Mercedes-Benz Insurance is one of the fastest-growing digital product areas in Mercedes-Benz. Mercedes-Benz Insurance Services GmbH is the insurance arm of Mercedes-Benz Group AG, covering automotive insurance globally, corporate insurance solutions, and employee benefits.

We are currently driving the comprehensive digital transformation of our retail business and developing new digital business models with our Insurance Platform of Services (IPOS). Our goal is to deliver a best-in-class customer and user experience across all touchpoints by providing tailored insurance solutions at the right time.

IPOS (Insurance Platform of Services) addresses the complexity of insurance products and friction in the customer journey. It overcomes challenges such as limited integration into the Mercedes-Benz ecosystem, heterogeneous architectures, system complexity, and scalability. We currently operate in 9 markets with 15 products — from Japan to the US — and we are still growing.

From Chaos to Clarity

You will master these tasks:

  • Own the product delivery flow end-to-end, driving topics from idea to completion by asking the right questions, involving the right people, and ensuring execution
  • Understand business processes and how value is generated through them
  • Initiate, facilitate, and monitor development and operational topics, presenting clear solutions
  • Improve CI/CD and testing flows (automated and manual) in the short term
  • Streamline release cycles and improve refinements over time
  • Bring technical and product literacy to enable effective collaboration and progress
  • Be biased toward action, using guidance when needed while driving topics independently

What This Actually Looks Like

  • You will not write code, but you will understand technical topics well enough to:
    • Identify over-engineering
    • Participate confidently in technical discussions and refinements
  • Work closely with developers and the Product Owner to unblock decisions and maintain delivery flow
  • Partner with the Product Owner as mutual backup and sounding board
  • Own SAFe Features end-to-end, including:
    • Stakeholder communication
    • Refinement
    • Test preparation
    • Delivery coordination
    • Documentation
  • Adapt to what the situation needs:
    • Wireframing
    • Test scripting
    • Writing user stories
    • Process mapping
    • Hands-on testing of front-end and APIs
  • You will be fully supported by the team — you will not be alone

Qualifications

You’ll thrive here if you:

  • Get satisfaction from closing loops, not opening them
  • Believe that “done” means documented, adopted, and working
  • Have a foundation in testing and software delivery
  • Can navigate SAFe/Agile without excessive ceremony
  • Prefer flow over firefighting
  • Think in systems, not silos
  • Enjoy variety and continuous learning
  • Build systems that prevent fires instead of only fighting them
  • Learn by doing, not by observing

What You Bring to the Table

  • Hands-on experience as a Quality Analyst, Business Analyst, or in Product Operations
  • Understanding of the software delivery lifecycle
  • Technical literacy to coordinate effectively with developers
  • Experience with Jira and Confluence
  • An Agile mindset (SAFe experience is a plus)
  • Proactivity and a strong drive to move things forward
  • Fluent English (German is a plus)

What We Offer

Our growth creates opportunity — here’s what that means for you:

  • Ownership of meaningful topics from day one
  • A team that values delivery over drama
  • Autonomy with support when needed
  • Flexible work options (Stuttgart-based preferred)
