About the Role
As an Android Engineer, you will play a key role in shaping the Android experience
across Bonial’s products in Germany and France. Your work will directly impact
millions of users across high-traffic apps such as
kaufDA, MeinProspekt, and Bonial.
Working in a cross-functional team, you’ll design, build, and refine user-facing features
while ensuring performance, stability, and high-quality standards
across our mobile platforms.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams to conceptualize and implement new features
- Develop high-quality Android applications using Kotlin and modern Android frameworks
- Ensure maintainability and scalability through clean architecture and best practices
- Write and maintain comprehensive test coverage, including unit, instrumentation, and performance tests
- Perform code reviews and contribute to improving CI/CD pipelines
- Work with modern tools and cloud services such as AWS, Firebase, GitHub, and SauceLabs
- Apply modern architectural patterns such as MVVM and MVI
- Advance test automation and CI practices to improve reliability and efficiency
- Build and evolve apps using Lean/Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, Scrumban)
- Ensure app stability and performance for high-traffic international products
Job Requirements
Experience
- 2–4 years of hands-on Android development using Kotlin (Java is a plus)
Technical Skills
- Solid understanding of Kotlin Coroutines
- Experience with Jetpack Compose or strong motivation to grow into it
- Familiarity with Gradle and command-line builds
- Good understanding of RESTful APIs, HTTPS, and JSON
- Experience working in a shared Android codebase
Engineering Expertise
- Good grasp of domain modeling and modern Android architectures (MVVM, MVI)
- Understanding of engineering best practices: PR workflows, CI/CD, code reviews, clean code
- Ability to make informed technical decisions aligned with product and business goals
Team Player
- Collaborative mindset and ability to work in cross-functional teams
- Proactive attitude with a strong sense of ownership and openness to feedback
Bonus Points
- Experience with large-scale or high-traffic products
- Interest in emerging mobile trends and continuous improvement
- Familiarity with Linux or macOS command-line environments
